Message from the President

Hi everybody -

Just returned from our North Carolina District East Convention in Raleigh this weekend and wanted to share with everyone what an awesome club we have!

Our club got 3rd Place for Outstanding Club Bulletin By A Club With More Than 50 Members and 3rd Place for Outstanding Community Service. The Community Service Award includes our ongoing monthly projects like Bingo at Brookstone and RCS dinners as well as our No Child Wet Behind Diaper Drive, Craven's Got Talent, Aluminum Tab Collections and more. All told, we logged more than 7,400 volunteer hours.

2nd Place for Outstanding Total Civitan Awareness Project. This is for the publicity our club received in The Sun Journal, Chamber of Commerce and through our club Facebook page.

We won 1st Place for Outstanding Civitan Awareness Project for Awareness is the Community with our monthly support of Religious Community Services's Homeless Shelter, Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. We also took 1st Place for Outstanding Community Service Individual Project for our support of RCS with our Diaper and Food Collections as well as our monthly Sunday evening meal. Finally, we won Outstanding Club Website By A Club With More Than 50 Members.

Looks like Joyce Hendricks has a lot of new award patches to put on our banner!

All your effort and hard work is the reason we won these awards. Thank you for all you do, not only for our club but for our community.
