Tryon Civitan Awards

TRYON CIVITAN AWARDS FOR 2012-13 CIVITAN YEAR: At the May 3 District-wide meeting at Boys & Girls Homes in Lake Waccamaw, Tryon Civitan Club was awarded Honor Club of Distinctionfor the 2012-13 Civitan year. This honor is received by very few Civitan Clubs: not only must you meet all the Honor Club requirements (including ending the Civitan year with a net growth in membership), but you also must have shared Civitan by building a new Civitan or Junior Civitan Club. During the 2012-13 year, Tryon Civitan Club sponsored our very first new Civitan Club, the Cape Lookout Civitan Club in Eastern Carteret County. Way to go, Tryon Civitans! Remember, we are eligible this year (2013-14) as well since we sponsored the new Early College EAST Junior Civitan Club – all we need to do is meet all the Honor Club requirements – including ending our year with a net growth in membership. So keep inviting folks to join our Club so we can continue to receive Honor Club of Distinction recognition. In addition to the Club's recognition, our 2012-13 President, Pat Drake, was recognized as a Distinguished President! Way to go, Pat! In addition, Tryon Civitan was recognized as donating at the Navigator level in the Civitans at the Helm program for the 2012-13 year. This means our club donated at least $25 per member to our Civitan International Research Center in 2012-13. Again, very few clubs achieve this level of recognition, so way to go, Tryon Civitan Club!
