More Service Projects
Tryon Civitan members serve refreshments for the cyclists participating in the MS Bike Ride. Several of our members also ride in the event.
We have two or three events at which members paint bowls at the Accidental Artist to be used in the annual RCS’ Empty Bowl Fundraiser. (1)In January, one of our evening meetings is a social and our members help to start off the painting of Empty Bowls. (2)Prior to the date of the RCS fundraiser, our club members join the Junior Civitans from Craven Early College and Early College EAST and or the We Can Civitan Club.
Tryon Civitan members participate in two Arc Events, one in the fall and one in the spring. Members donate finger food and drinks for both events.
ARC Dance- Happens in September and we are known to be a dance partner.
ARC Bingo- Happens in April, volunteers organize, set up tables, and assist ARC members in playing bingo and choosing prizes.
Not only does our club support the YMCA with an annual donation, many of our members help with the Craven County School System’s Safety Swim for third and fourth graders, the Turkey Trot fundraiser, and the Y Triathlon.
Not only does our club support the Special Olympics at the games, we team up with the We Can Civitan Club to throw a fun Victory Dance for the athletes. We have food, photo booth, DJ and lots of dancing!
